Facebook Likes PostAccording to Guy Kawasaki, “There’s only two types of people on social media: people who say they want more followers and the liars.”

It’s true. We’ve got to have followers. Without them, it doesn’t matter how helpful our content is.

I heard someone say once, “if you don’t leverage your content, you might as well have a billboard in the desert.’ They were right.

So today, I want to share Tip #7 from “50 Free Ways to Increase Your Facebook Page Likes.”

In this tip, Jason DeMers, a contributor to Forbes Magazine, suggests, “Reference your Facebook page on your blog. Draw attention to an interesting discussion happening on your Facebook page by mentioning it in a blog post.”

But please before you click, let me share a few thoughts.

I agree with Jason. You always want to share interesting content with your readers. But I’ll go one step further, I suggest you select something you’ve posted that is interesting to your Ideal Clients.

This is a win-win for everyone. The people that read what you’ve posted and Like your page are telling you they are interested in what you are sharing. It also gives you an opportunity to begin (or possibly continue) a conversation with them.

So, besides checking out Jason’s 50 Tips, visit my Facebook Page and check out 10 Public Speaking Habits to Avoid at All Costs. I’ve been to Alan’s workshops. His tips are solid and I found this information to be relevant to conversations with prospects (and clients) as well. I hope you will too.
